About The Punkin Project
Our Story...
The Punkin Project is not your ordinary Cinderella carriage. Started in 2017 by Dawn Sardinas and Wylie Weldy, this project was born out of a desire to serve the mobility-challenged community members of YOUtopia, San Diego's Regional Burning Man event. After watching other vehicles struggle with the local terrain, they set out to create a vehicle that would transport participants throughout the created city. What they ended up with was the most famous carriage ever, Cinderella's pumpkin carriage.
The Punkin Project is a collaborative effort and features work from some of our favorite artists, including Dylan Eccleson, Lyn Feudner, Dan Velez, and more. Many of our friends and family volunteered over the years, helping us with everything from painting & sanding to soldering, and we couldn't be more grateful.
In December of 2019, Wylie proposed to Dawn, asking if she would marry him "when The Punkin is done." She said yes, and they were married in 2024. Their Steampunk Fairytale-themed wedding featured The Punkin Project.
We look forward to sharing our happily-ever-after with you.
